The Management Committee (Trustees) 2023/4
Although the hall is owned by the Goring-on-Thames Parish Council it has devolved its management responsibilities to a Board of Trustees known as the Management Committee. They have absolute control in running the hall and are not answerable to the Parish Council.
Members can be elected or co-opted.
The current Board of Trustees are:
“The Committee’s primary concerns are for the safety and wellbeing of the Hall’s users, the upkeep of the buildings and improvement of facilities.
Members of the Management Committee are therefore collectively responsible for:
Where members of the Committee are linked to user organisations, they are expected to act as information channels - bringing views and concerns to the Committee and also relaying decisions to these organisations. However, when representatives of user groups become members of the Management Committee they become Trustees of the village hall and must therefore ensure that their first responsibility is to the Village Hall charity as a whole and not to their organisation or group.
From time to time Committee members might be involved in "fund-raising activities.”

- Continuous improvement of facilities for users
- Selection and maintenance of equipment
- Maintenance of the fabric of the Hall
- Hall security & safety
- Development of day-to-day operating procedures
Where members of the Committee are linked to user organisations, they are expected to act as information channels - bringing views and concerns to the Committee and also relaying decisions to these organisations. However, when representatives of user groups become members of the Management Committee they become Trustees of the village hall and must therefore ensure that their first responsibility is to the Village Hall charity as a whole and not to their organisation or group.

The Trustees are currently looking for a person with administrative skills who would be willing to become Minutes Secretary.
