Village Hall Improvement Project

In response to requests from many Hall users, The Committee secured funds to extend the limited space behind the main building to provide a room that could be booked separately from the rest of the building with dedicated access from the new path one the south side of the main hall.

We are pleased to announce that this room is very near to completion and the official opening is planned for Thursday 17th May from 13:00 to 14:30. This will be by invitation only but The Garden Room will remain open from 14:30 to 16:30 and we welcome anyone who would like to drop in to see the additional facility. There will be a further opportunity to see The Garden Room as we will be holding a coffee and cake morning on Saturday 26th May from 10:00 until 12:00.

The Garden Room can also be used for small meetings and children's parties or as a 'Green Room' space for performers.

It boasts a vaulted ceiling, plenty of natural light, a small kitchen area, meeting tables and seating for up to 16 people.

In addition to the new 'Garden Room' there is:

A new large patio with a garden accessible from the Garden Room.

Secure fencing and gates.

Improved exterior lighting.

Flexible interior lighting.

Improved pathways from the emergency exits.

Water butts to collect water for the garden plants and Village hanging baskets.

The significant sum of money raised has allowed us to carry out more improvements to other parts of the Hall than were originally planned.

The Committee is grateful to all of the village organisations and local businesses who wrote in support of our application, and to all members of the community who supported the project in many different ways.

The Committee would like to thank all hall users for their patience during the building work.
